Kimberly S. Taylor, Resident Superior Court Judge, 22nd Judicial District (Retired)

Retired Judge Kimberly Taylor

Kim Taylor was a Superior Court Judge
in the 22nd Judicial District, Sixth Division of North Carolina for 20 years. The mother of an 21-year-old son with autism, Judge Taylor played an integral role in getting autism spectrum disorder information added to the basic law enforcement training for the state of North Carolina. Judge Taylor has co-presented with Dennis Debbaudt for the Illinois Attorney General's Office in 2007 and 2008, in Florida and Minnesota for the Autism Society of America. Judge Taylor, now of counsel to Lewis & Daggett, is sought out for her legal expertise as it pertains to persons with autism and their families.

Dr. Liane Holliday Willey

Diagnosed later in life with Asperger syndrome, a very high functioning form of autism Dr. Liane Holliday Willey is an inspirational and motivational speaker who helps her audience truly understand the importance of accepting people with differences. Dr. Willey has presented with Dennis Debbaudt in Michigan and Florida and edited Dennis' Safety chapter in her book Asperger Syndrome in Adolescence Living with the Ups, the Downs and Things in Between. Liane is also the author of the international best-selling book Pretending to be Normal: Living with Aspergers Syndrome.

Dr. Stephen Shore

Diagnosed at four years of age with "Atypical Development with strong autistic tendencies", Stephen completed his doctoral dissertation at Boston University focused on matching best practice to the needs of people on the autism spectrum. Recently, Dr. Shore has accepted a professorship at Adelphi University teaching courses in special education and autism.

In addition to working with children and talking about life on the autism spectrum, Stephen presents and consults internationally on adult issues pertinent to education, relationships, employment, advocacy, and disclosure as discussed in his books Beyond the Wall: Personal Experiences with Autism and Asperger Syndrome, Ask and Tell: Self-advocacy and Disclosure for People on the Autism Spectrum, and the critically acclaimed Understanding Autism for Dummies.

Over the past decade Dr. Shore has made hundreds of presentations across six continents to school systems, universities, parent groups, autism organizations, conferences and other events. Dr. Shore has co-presented with Dennis Debbaudt in Illinois, Minnesota, Massachusetts and Florida.

Captain Bill Cannata

Captain Bill CannataBill Cannata is a Captain with the Westwood MA Fire Department and is The Autism and Law Enforcement Education Coalition Coordinator (ALEC). The ALEC Project is supported in part with funding from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Autism Spectrum Division. Bill has presented in tandem with Dennis Debbaudt and Judge Kim Taylor at conferences in Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Florida and is a consultant to the Autism, Fire-Rescue and Emergency Medical Services video. He has presented for the Alabama Fire Chief's Association and in other areas of the U.S. and in Canada.

Margaret Creedon, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Creedon is a Fellow in the American Academy of Clinical Psychology; member of the Panel of Professional Advisors for the Autism Society of America  and the Autism Society of Illinois (ASI); attending staff at the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago; early intervention specialist; and consultant to families and schools including the Department of Education in Ireland.

Dr. Creedon is also a co-founder of the international Autism Network for Individuals with Hearing and Visual Impairments and a coalition for the prevention of abuse to persons with disabilities.
